NATO to hold urgent meeting to discuss downing of Russian plane in Syria – Estonian mission to alliance
NATO will hold an urgent meeting on Tuesday to discuss the downing of a Russian Sukhoi Su-24 jet in Syria, the Estonian mission to NATO reported.
"#NATO Ambassadors will gather to discuss the downing of the #Russian jet today, no Article 4 invoked," the mission tweeted.
Meanwhile, a representative of the NATO headquarters administration told Interfax that the North Atlantic Council will converge at the level of ambassadors in Brussels at 5 p.m. local time to discuss the downing of the Russian aircraft.
He said the special meeting would be convened at the request of Turkey.
