Poroshenko: in coming days I will submit draft amendments to Constitution regarding judicial reform to parliament
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko plans to submit draft amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine regarding judicial reform to the parliament in coming days.
"In the coming days I will pass the draft amendments to the Constitution regarding judicial reform to the Verkhovna Rada. This concerns the purification of the system via the assessment of each judge in person, control over spending and income of judges, abolishment of judicial immunity," the president said in his address to Ukrainians on the occasion of Day of Dignity and Freedom on Saturday.
"Judicial reform is linked to the problem of punishing those who are guilty in crimes against Maidan. I was the participant of Maidan from the first evening and until the last days," Poroshenko said, adding that he is waiting for the open and fair trial.
