EU to increase assistance for civil society organizations in Eastern Partnership countries to EUR 150 mln
The European Union will increase its assistance to civil society organizations in the Eastern Partnership countries for 2014-2017 from EUR90 million to EUR150 million, according to European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn.
Speaking at the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership Countries in Kyiv on Friday, Hahn said that the EU has already decided to increase its budget for civil society organizations in the period from 2014 to 2017 to EUR150 million from EUR90 million in the previous period.
The Eastern Partnership countries include Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
