Ukraine needs to fight corruption, transform its legal system to ensure successful reforms - Hahn
The essential prerequisites for the success of reforms in Ukraine are fighting corruption and transforming the legal system, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Johannes Hahn said while speaking at an investment conference in Lviv on Thursday.
According to him, an important element of the fight against corruption in Ukraine is overcoming corruption in the customs service.
In addition, the commissioner said that anti-corruption measures and legal reform are not a concession on the part of Ukraine, but are absolutely necessary for the Ukrainian people.
He also stressed that the Ukrainian government managed to stabilize the macroeconomic situation in the country, adding that the forecast by the Ukrainian government of a positive dynamics of economic growth for next year was a good signal.
