Parliament passes bill on formation of state defense order

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a bill on amendments to the law of Ukraine on the state defense order concerning the formation and execution of the state defense order (No. 2090a).

The bill was supported by 238 deputies.

This bill proposes the introduction of a system for forming the basic indicators of the state defense order for a three-year period, and the Cabinet of Ministers will approve the draft major indicators of the state defense order within one month from when the law on the national budget of Ukraine for the relevant year enters into force.

It is also proposed that the purchase of weapons and military equipment, arms and ammunition, their modernization and repairs must be carried out solely under the defense order.

The legislative initiative also provides for the specification of the definition "government customers."
