Rada passes law on mechanism of calculating fines for violation of antitrust laws
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on the mechanism which calculates penalties for the violation of antitrust laws.
All in all, 267 deputies voted in favor of the adoption of bill No. 2431.
Presenting the bill, one of its authors Viktoria Ptashnyk (Samopomich), said that it is aimed at introducing a system which will determine the size of fines as there is a currently an upper limit but no procedure to calculate them.
"The absence of such regulation leads to the ambiguous use of legislation by the Antimonopoly Committee," she said.
Bill No. 2431 is included in the package of laws required to reform the Antimonopoly Committee.
