Mamai reelected as Poltava mayor – election commission
Incumbent Mayor Oleksandr Mamai, nominated by the Conscience of Ukraine Party, has been reelected as the mayor of Poltava, according to the city election commission.
Mamai received 53,390 votes (62.9%), while his rival, former mayor and Petro Poroshenko Bloc "Solidarity" candidate Andriy Matkovsky received 31,955 votes (37.4%) in the second round of the election, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
Voter turnout was about 36%.
As reported, in the first round of the mayoral election on October 25, Mamai came first with 23% of the vote, and Matkovsky came second with 18.2%.
