Militants shells Mayorsk, Zaytseve, village in Luhansk region - Kyiv
Ukrainian Armed Forces units remained under attack from small arms and mortars and assaults were mounted on their positions in Donbas over the past day, the anti-terrorist operation press center reported.
"In the past 24 hours the terrorists kept shelling our positions in the Artemivsk sector, in the Donetsk sector. They were shelling Mayorsk and Zaytseve using 82mm mortars, large-caliber machineguns and small arms," the press center wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
Militants tried to attack Ukrainian army positions near Novozvanivka in the Popasna district of Luhansk region at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Kyiv said.
They fired small arms and grenade launchers on Avdiyivka, Pisky and Maryinka in Donetsk sector. "The latest attack was conducted against Avdiyivka after 2 a.m.," the press center said.
