Reform provides for abolition of judicial immunity - Poroshenko
Draft amendments to the Constitution on judicial reform provide for the abolition of existing judicial immunity, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said.
"Judges will be deprived of immunity they have now," the president said while speaking at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The president noted that judges won't be brought to responsibility for legal decisions, but in all other respects they will be equal to other citizens.
In addition, Poroshenko criticized MPs for their failure to vote for the abolition of parliamentary and judicial immunity.
