The law on the national police (No. 580-VIII), which ceases the activities of the militia and introduces the legal entity of the national police of Ukraine, will enter into force in Ukraine on Saturday, November 7, 2015.
"The law of Ukraine on the national police will come into force on November 7. Part of the existing militia officers will be appointed acting officers to the posts in the relevant authorities of the national police," Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov wrote on his Facebook page.
He noted that a transition period is foreseen in the process of passing from militia to police.
