Fire opened on Ukrainian prosecutor general's office in Kyiv – SBU
An attempt was made on the life of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in Kyiv, Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) spokesperson Olena Hytlianska has reported.
"The office of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin came under fire at around 22:00 on November 2. The head of the agency was meeting with his subordinates at the office at that time," Hytlianska wrote on her Facebook page without providing further details.
"An investigative group of the SBU was alerted about the incident and immediately left for the scene," she said.
Hytlianska told Interfax later that no one was hurt in the incident.
"No one was wounded as a result of the shelling - neither the prosecutor general nor anyone else," she said.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, for its part, has so far been unavailable for comment.
