Most volunteers couldn't have known about criminal activities of National Defense Foundation – SBU

Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Chief Vasyl Hrytsak has said that the majority of the volunteers of the National Defense Foundation couldn't have known about the illegal activities of the organization.

"The National Defense Fund did a lot of good of which I am really sure. In no way do I want to cast a shadow on the normal volunteers, real and sincere [people], who gave to the last, brought [gifts] from home, risked their lives, went to the front… I'm sure that the majority of them didn't even guess that there was a second side to this coin," Hrytsak said at a press conference in Kyiv.

As reported, UKROP party's press service reported that the offices of the National Defense Charitable Foundation had been searched, as had the offices of the organization's leaders Pavlo and Natalia Khazan and the main UKROP office in Kyiv.

The activities of the foundation are connected with head of the UKROP political council Hennadiy Korban, who was detained on Saturday.
