Govt proposes pegging heating fees to outdoor temperatures - Yatseniuk
The Ukrainian government has set up a working group which is drawing up a mechanism for pegging bills for heating services to outdoor temperatures, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.
"This should become the responsibility of heating supply companies – to reduce natural gas consumption, reduce temperature in pipelines and reduce bills for your apartment heating services, and not to heat air using your money," he said on the "Ten minutes with the prime minister" TV program on Sunday night.
Yatseniuk added that irrespective of outdoor temperatures "radiators are red, we open windows and receive bills for heating the air."
