Ukraine's Voters Committee registers 1,500 violations during local elections
Electoral violations registered during the local elections cannot affect their outcome, director general of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU) Oleksiy Koshel has said.
"During the observation of the elections, the CVU recorded more than 1,500 violations of the electoral law. Most of them, more than 70% are violations of a procedural and technical nature which cannot affect the outcome of the elections," Koshel said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.
These violations included the late opening of polling stations, breaks in the work of precinct election commissions, lack of voting booths, lack of forms to record results, partial filling in of these forms before the end of the vote etc.
Koshel said that 4,300 observers and 52 mobile groups of the CVU worked at polling stations on election day.
