Poroshenko calls on Rada to set new date for elections in Mariupol by end of 2015
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has asked the parliament to set a new date for the local elections in Mariupol by the end of the year.
"I expect a political assessment from the political forces and I am asking the Verkhovna Rada and the Central Election Commission to respond immediately to this. The Verkhovna Rada at its next meeting should adopt amendments to the legislation that will allow holding the elections in Mariupol in the near future," he told reporters adding that these elections should be held this year.
