Germany provides EUR 4.5 mln for WFP humanitarian project in eastern Ukraine
The German government provides EUR 4.5 million for the humanitarian project World Food Programme (WFP) in eastern Ukraine, the Germany Embassy to Ukraine has reported.
"The Federal government of Germany supports the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in the realization of the humanitarian project "Emergency Assistance to Civilians Affected by the Conflict in Eastern Ukraine" by injecting EUR 4.5 million," reads the report published on October 23.
The embassy said that the goal of the project which realization was started in late 2014 and which was expanded due to the difficult situation in eastern Ukraine is to provide for the key needs in food to over 500,000 people suffering from the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
