OSCE to check whether tanks removed 15 km on both sides in Donbas
Over the next two days the Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) will check if there are no tanks on the fighting positions of both sides in Donbas.
The command staff of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire and stabilization of the dividing line (JCCC), as well as the JCCC's Ukrainian and Russian staff attended a video conference with OSCE SMM deputy chief Alexander Hug, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on its website.
Over the next two days the OSCE is to check if there are any tanks on the fighting positions of both sides in the 15-kilometer security zone, the ministry said. "This is stipulated by the schedule for completion of the first stage of weaponry removal. In the event of a continued ceasefire and relevant confirmation by the OSCE of the removal of tanks by both sides, the process will continue," the statement reads.
