Rada permits foreigners, persons with no citizenship to serve in Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has permitted foreigners and persons with no citizenship to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A total of 229 parliamentarians voted in favor of the respective law (No. 2389) on amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The bill introduces amendments to Ukrainian laws on military duty and military service, on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and on the regulations of the domestic service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the amendments, foreigners and persons without citizenship are permitted to participate in military service on a contract basis as a private soldier or non-commissioned officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military units.
