Putin has promised to prevent fake elections in Donbas - Poroshenko
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to assist in ensuring that pseudo-elections are not held in some areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions at negotiations in Paris
"The dialogue should take place with the legally elected representatives of Donbas. At present, these people (the leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics) do not represent Donbas. They came about as the result of the fake elections... Putin has promised to make every effort, and to inform us no later than on Tuesday, that this decision is taken. And if not, there will be consequences," Poroshenko said in an interview with Ukrainian television channels on Sunday night.
