U.S. to direct $21.5 mln for Ukraine's military needs
United States will raise $21.5 million of funds for the Ukrainian government's military needs according to Foreign Assistance Aid Memorandum signed by U.S. President Barack Obama and released by White House.
"To direct the drawdown of up to $20 million in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense and military education and training to provide assistance for the Government of Ukraine," reads the memorandum.
In addition, the document says about allocation of another $1.5 million for Ukraine to purchase nonlethal commodities and services from any agency of the U.S. government.
