Former MP, journalist Andriy Shevchenko to go to Canada as ambassador
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has appointed famous journalist and politician Andriy Shevchenko new Ukrainian ambassador to Canada.
The press service of the head of state reported on Thursday that at a meeting with the new ambassador the president emphasized the importance of the ambassador's tasks in the country where "the Ukrainian factor plays the biggest role outside our state."
Poroshenko wished Shevchenko to do everything to strengthen and develop Ukrainian-Canadian relations.
"I'm sure that your young enthusiasm, political experience and desire to work would create a powerful basis for the further effective growth of our relations," Poroshenko said.
