NATO setting up unique office in Kyiv - Ukrainian foreign minister
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg signed an agreement between the Ukrainian government and the alliance on the status of the NATO Office in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The agreement formalizes the diplomatic status of the NATO Office in Ukraine, which is being formed on the basis of the NATO Liaison Office and the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry press service said.
"For the first time in its history NATO is creating a unique office exactly in Ukraine, which has the status of a special partner of the alliance," the report said.
The agreement is subject to ratification by the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada.
