NATO secretary general calls on Russia to stop supporting separatists in eastern Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called on Russia to stop supporting the separatists in eastern Ukraine in order to avoid destabilization of the situation in Donbas.
"Still, the situation remains quite fragile and unstable. We know that Russia continues to support the separatists with weapons, with fighters, exercises and training of certain groups. I'd like to call on Russia to stop supporting separatists, to cease this action, which is aimed at destabilizing the situation in eastern Ukraine and to let Ukraine live a peaceful, sovereign life," he said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk in Kyiv on Tuesday.
