Kyiv to demand at working subgroups' meetings in Minsk that DPR, LPR elections be called off
The Ukrainian side will demand at the Trilateral Contact Group meeting in Minsk that the decrees regarding elections in the self-proclaimed Donbas republics be repealed, the Ukrainian president's representative for the peace process in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Verkhovna Rada deputy Iryna Herashchenko has said.
"Four working subgroups [humanitarian, economic, security and political] will hold another meeting in Minsk today, and the Trilateral Contact Group will converge afterwards. The key standpoint we, the representatives of Ukraine, will maintain today at every subgroup is that any fake elections on the occupied territories are inadmissible and must be cancelled," Herashchenko wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
She said they had received the strict orders from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Herashchenko is a member of the humanitarian subgroup.
