Groysman stands for simplification of procedure for lifting immunity from MPs
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman will suggest that the MPs simplify the procedure for lifting immunity from members of the parliament,
According to the Verkhovna Rada press service, when speaking at the meeting of the National Reforms Council chaired by Ukrainian President on Friday, September 18, Groysman said that the bill with relevant amendments was being reviewed by a Rada committee on legal policy and justice.
Rada Chairman also thinks that such a procedure should be simplified as the foreseen procedure could take weeks.
"For instance, if there is actual evidence of a crime, it must be resolved immediately. The MP must be taken under control so that he couldn't disappear anywhere, and this is how everyone will stand to understand very quickly that the responsibility is very close," he noted.
According to Groysman, that's why he's going to intricude a new quicker procedure.
