Italian man held en route to join militias handed over Security Service - Ukrainian border guards
An Italian man has been held by Ukrainian border guards at the Zaitseve checkpoint on the dividing line in Donetsk Region.
"The Italian man arrived at the point of exit into the militia-controlled territory this morning. During document checks and a conversation, border guards became aware of his intention to take part in the armed conflict in the east of our country alongside illegal armed formations," the State Border Guard Service said in a statement released on Sunday.
The 22-year-old Italian has been arrested and handed over to the Ukrainian Security Service for further investigation.
