Increased pensions, salaries for state employees to be paid out in Oct – Yatseniuk
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that increased salaries and welfare benefits will be out paid to retirees and state employees during the beginning of October.
"Starting from October 4 retirees will get both the additional money for September and increased pensions for October. Therefore, increased salaries for state employees will be paid out in the first part of October," Yatseniuk said during the "10 Minutes with the Premier" television program on Sunday.
Yatseniuk said that in the previous week, the parliament endorsed a bill on increasing salaries by 13-19%, and pensions by 13%.
"Money from the state budget is being provided," he said.
According to Yatseniuk, local budgets have the necessary funds to increase salaries for state employees, as due to decentralization, they have received an additional 40% in income.
