Parliament votes against dismissing Voschevsky as Deputy PM
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted against the dismissal of Valeriy Voschevsky as Deputy Prime Minister after three attempts.
Only 210 MPs voted in favor of his dismssal out of the required 226.
Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman announced a break until 16:00. The evening session will start with the issue of Voschevsky's dismissal.
During his speech in parliament Voschevsky said that Ukraine should become a parliamentary republic and noted that there could be no "two-headed" executive power.
According to him, if a Prime Ministers is elected he has to be fully responsible for defense, security, and both domestic and foreign policies, and the president has to be elected in the parliament's hall.
