Minsk agreements need to be fulfilled this year - Poroshenko Bloc faction leader
Yuriy Lutsenko, the leader of Petro Poroshenko Bloc's faction, says there will be no point in the temporary provisions of the Ukrainian constitution establishing a special local self-government procedure, unless the Minsk agreements are implemented this year.
"First of all, temporary provisions of the constitutional amendments will become unnecessary, because if the Minsk [deal] 'dies' any mention of a special local self-government procedure envisaged by these agreements will be redundant," he said at the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday.
"The only thing a special procedure can offer under such circumstances is a special procedure of economic relations with economic entities" that are situated on territories uncontrolled by Kyiv but are registered and pay their taxes in Ukraine, Lutsenko said.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has declared the need to fulfill the Minsk agreements this year, Lutsenko added.
