EU welcomes Rada's adoption of law on transparent media ownership – Tombinski
European Union has welcomed the Verkhovna Rada's adoption of the law that obliges television and radio broadcasting companies to disclose their ultimate owners on their websites.
Head of EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski said this during the international conference "Launching of Public Broadcasting in Ukraine: Challenges and Next Steps."
Tombinski said it is necessary to set up a mechanism to engage the public in selecting the content of public broadcasting.
As reported, Poroshenko signed the law on transparent media ownership on September 10, 2015, which was previously adopted by the Ukrainian parliament.
