U.S. welcomes reforms of Ukrainian authorities – Nuland
The U.S. welcomes the reforms which are being carried out by the Ukrainian authorities, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland has said.
You had two stages of honest elections, you preserved the country's unity, you stopped project "Novorossiya." Kharkiv, Mariupol, Sloviansk are Ukrainian cities, your reached an agreement with the IMF and secured debt restructuring under conditions better than anyone had expected, Nuland said at the 12th annual Yalta European Strategy meeting held in Kyiv on Saturday.
She said that Ukrainian authorities managed to create a basis for economic growth while also making changes to the banking system. However, she said that a lot of work remains to be done, including overcoming corruption and cleansing the judicial system.
Nuland said that the U.S. will continue to support Ukraine.
