Ukraine still hoping for West defense arms supplies to cool down Russia – Yatseniuk
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has said that Ukraine cherish great hopes for Western partners' help in the form of defense arms supplies to cool Russia's ardour.
"We're waiting for defense armament to be given us," Yatseniuk said during the 12th annual meeting of Yalta European Strategy (YES) in Kyiv on Saturday.
He reminded that Ukraine already asked Western partners to provide such supplies.
"Defense armament [needed] not for offence. We understand that there is no a military solution to this issue, but there won't be any solution if there are no strong Armed Forces [in Ukraine]. We need a strong army to deter Russian terrorists," the premier stressed.
