Ukrainian, foreign reconnaissance confirm that Russian troops, machinery remain in Donbas
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that reconnaissance information proves that Russian military machinery and troops are still deployed in the territory of Ukraine.
"Unfortunately, none of these Russian soldiers, none of these Russian tanks got back to Russia. Our intelligence sources along with our satellite reconnaissance, as well as [the information of] our transatlantic partners, proves that there is a place in Ukraine where the access of OSCE monitors is prohibited," he said at the 12th Annual Meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) in Kyiv on Friday.
Poroshenko stressed that Ukraine "knows perfectly well where Russian artillery, Russian tanks, rockets, rocket launchers and Russian soldiers are deployed."
