Yatseniuk instructs national air navigation service to tighten control over Russian planes' flights to Syria
Ukraine has tightened control over the passage of Russian planes to Syria in airspace over neutral waters, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.
"This morning, I instructed UkSATSE [Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise] to tighten control, together with EUROCONTROL, concerning flights of any Russian planes to Syria. Airspace to these planes has been fully closed over Ukrainian territory, and airspace over neutral waters is currently being controlled in a special way," Yatseniuk said at a joint press conference with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava on Thursday.
