Saakashvili promises to prevent return of suspended Illichivsk port head
Odesa regional administration head Mikheil Saakashvili has promised that he will not allow the suspended head of Illichivsk Maritime Merchandise Port state enterprise Yuriy Kruk from returning to his position.
"I was told that Kyiv is lobbying for him, from the highest level. I can tell his patrons and him: there is no such very high level for me and we will not allow him to come back," he told reporters after a meeting of the Council of Regions in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Saakashvili said that Kruk was suspended from his post, however he has taken part in the tender to select the new head of the company and in fact made the final list of candidates to the post.
He said that Kruk represents the interests of Ihor Kolomoisky.
Saakashvili has promised that he will not allow representatives of oligarchs to manage the port.
