Withdrawal of mortars under 120 mm, artillery under 100 mm to meet de-escalation effort in Donbas
The leaders of 'Normandy format' countries, Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine, have welcomed the ceasefire in southeastern Ukraine, the Kremlin press service said.
"The leaders welcomed the ceasefire that recently has been established in southeastern Ukraine. The withdrawal of mortar under 120 mm and artillery under 100 mm would meet the tasks of the further de-escalation of the situation and the creation of perquisites for the economic restoration of Donbas regions," a statement issued by the Kremlin press service on Wednesday night reads.
Meanwhile, according to the Ukrainian presidential press service, the arms withdrawal process should be monitored by SMM OSCE inspectors, "in particular, through the creation of permanently active points along the contact line."
