EBRD, IFC to provide $500 mln to Naftogaz to buy gas – NBU head
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will provide $500 million to national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy to buy gas, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has reported, referring to NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva.
"We are to buy gas for the winter period, but they will be financed using the loan of Naftogaz Ukrainy taken from international organizations. Now they will receive a credit line of $300 million from EBRD and the IFC will provide another $200 million," the press service said, citing Gontareva.
She said that in the past four months, Naftogaz Ukrainy has bought $700 million on the market.
