One Ukrainian serviceman killed in Donbas over past day
One Ukrainian serviceman was killed in Donbas over the past day, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman for the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Andriy Lysenko has said.
"The enemy made another attempt to penetrate Ukrainian defense lines in the Stanytsia Luhanska district of the Luhansk region in the period from 1 a.m. till 2 a.m.," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.
A group of militants crossed the Siversky Donets River, entered the village of Syze and clashed with Ukrainian servicemen, he said. "The enemy retreated after a 30-minute gunfire exchange. One of our servicemen was killed in the clash. The ATO forces did not suffer any other casualties over the past day," Lysenko said.
