Ukraine, IMF mission to discuss debt repayment on VAT refunds
The Cabinet of Ministers and the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which will arrive in Ukraine on September 22, will discuss debt repayment on VAT refunds, Minister of Finance Natalie Jaresko has told reporters.
"We will work together now, to negotiate with the IMF regarding the closure of these old debts on VAT for the previous years," she said.
According to Jaresko, one of the options under consideration is the issue of bonds, but she noted it is too premature to say exactly what will happen as the issue is being discussed.
She noted that the Ukrainian government and the IMF would also discuss the question of regulating advance payments on taxes, which entrepreneurs made in the previous years.
Jaresko said the government wants to give a clear forecast to entrepreneurs regarding how long it will take to solve this issue.
