Kuchma calls for fight for Donbas, saying that 'it's easy to give something away, but it's difficult to get it back'
Leonid Kuchma, representative of Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group on the situation in Donbas and the second president of Ukraine, said he is convinced that it is necessary to fight for Ukrainian Donbas using both political and economic methods.
"It's easy to give something away, but it's difficult to get it back. Let's look at the post-Soviet experience, Nagorny Karabakh, Transdniestria, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia," Kuchma said in an interview with Interfax, commenting on the opinion that it would be expedient to distance oneself from Donbas.
"It is necessary to fight for Ukrainian Donbas using all methods, primarily political, diplomatic and economic," Kuchma said.
