Kharkiv police probe footage of dark-skinned man beaten by law enforcers
Police in Ukraine's Kharkiv region have launched an internal inquiry after a video emerged on the internet showing men in police uniform beating a dark-skinned man.
"Today several media outlets reported about foreign nationals ostensibly beaten by patrol regiment officers. With regard to this matter, Kharkiv regional police hereby informs that it has launched an internal inquiry at the behest of senior officials at the Central Directorate of the Interior Ministry," a Kharkiv regional police spokesperson said.
A number of regional websites posted a video on social media showing two men in police uniforms beating a dark-skinned man, dragging him towards and into a police vehicle.
