New British Ambassador Gough to arrive in Ukraine on September 7
The new British ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough will arrive in Kyiv on September 7, her predecessor Simon Smith has said.
"My mission as UK Ambassador to Ukraine ended on 1 September. I wish Ukrainians all strength and success for the future of their wonderful country," Smith wrote on Twitter.
"And best wishes too to my brilliant successor as UK Ambassador, Judith Gough, who arrives in Kyiv on 7 September," he said.
Gough was appointed as the British Ambassador to Ukraine on March 27, 2015 to replace Smith who will be transferred to another diplomatic service appointment.
Gough joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2001 and prior to her appointment she served as director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. She also served as the British ambassador to Georgia in 2010-2012, and as a political adviser at the British embassy in Seoul in 2004-2007.
