Kyiv reports 19 militant attacks on Ukrainian army positions over past day

Militants committed 19 violations of the truce in Donbas, mostly by use of small arms, on Monday, the Ukrainian anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center wrote on Facebook on Tuesday morning.

Militants used small arms in an attack on the Ukrainian Armed Forces strongholds in Maryinka, Opytne and Avdiyivka near Donetsk in the period from 6 p.m. till midnight. A grenade launcher was used south of Avdiyivka at about 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Militants used small arms against Ukrainian army positions in Sanzharivka in the Artemivsk sector at 8:30 p.m. A large-caliber machine gun fired at Ukrainian army positions near Lozove at 10 p.m.

Ukrainian positions in Krymske came under fire from small arms from the side of Sokilnyky in the Luhansk region at around midnight.

Militants did not open fire along the entire contact line in the period from midnight till 6 a.m. on Tuesday, the press center said.
