Some 122 hospitalized after being injured outside Rada – Avakov
One hundred and twenty-two people have been hospitalized after being injured in clashes outside the building of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada on Monday; eleven of them are critical, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said.
"One hundred and twenty-two people are in hospitals after clashes outside the Rada, including several people in a critical condition, including eleven in a very critical condition. In addition two French television journalists have been injured and are now in hospital," Avakov told reporters in Kyiv on Monday.
"Injuries have been caused to soldiers from the National Guard, the Interior Ministry, the State Security Guard Service, the Interior Ministry's special forces and the Kyiv police. Deputy Interior Minister (Vasyl) Paskal suffered a fragmentation injury," the minister added.
Twelve people are on operating tables at a Defense Ministry hospital and seven are at an Interior Ministry hospital, Avakov said.
"Some of them are critical. One of them is in a deep coma," the minister said.
