Finance Ministry sees no reason for serious hryvnia devaluation
The Finance Ministry sees no reason for a serious devaluation of the hryvnia against the backdrop of a significant fall in the ruble and tenge exchange rates, as well as lower commodity prices, Deputy Minister of Finance Ihor Umansky told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.
"The pressure is significant, however in contrast to the tenge, Ukraine has gone through the stage of a fairly serious devaluation and now many countries in fact are catching up with us. Today, if we execute the program we planned and follow it, then I do not see any threats to the hryvnia in the short term," he said.
