Poroshenko not ruling out Normandy Four meeting on UN GA sidelines
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has refused to rule out a meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Four nations (Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine) during the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly (UN GA) in late September.
"I will neither confirm, nor deny it (the possibility of such a meeting) but you understand that New York and the UN General Assembly session provides a platform for most international meetings," Poroshenko said in Odesa on Tuesday.
"The main rule is that if this meeting takes place, it must be thoroughly prepared because we are now preparing our delegation that is travelling tomorrow for a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group," he said.
In addition, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Kostiantyn Yeliseyev recently said that a Normandy Four meeting could take place.
