Poroshenko: 210,000 people called up for military service in Ukraine in six waves of mobilization, every sixth volunteer
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has stated 210,000 people had been called up for military service in Ukraine within the six waves of mobilization, one in six being a volunteer.
"Some 210,000 people were called up for military service for the six waves of mobilization, of which 35,000, i.e. every sixth person, are volunteers," the president said at the celebrations on occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.
According to the president, 7,320 soldiers were wounded.
Poroshenko also noted that 9,000 officers and soldiers, volunteers received high state awards, 22 servicemen were awarded the title of the Hero of Ukraine.
