Poroshenko does not deem necessary 7th mobilization wave in Ukraine in near future
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko does not deem necessary a decree announcing the seventh mobilization wave in the near future.
"There is no need for this [decree] for now. As soon as that is necessary, the General Staff chief and the defense minister will make a submission. We will consider it at the National Security and Defense Council and make a decision," Poroshenko said at a press briefing at the military range near Chuhuiv in Kharkiv region on Saturday.
The president avoided a straight answer to the question about his attitude to 'street mobilization' saying that the sixth wave of mobilization had come to an end.
"The sixth wave of mobilization ended on August 17. The next one will be organized in a different manner. Everyone eligible for mobilization should be included in the electronic register," he said.
Poroshenko also said he hoped that during the next wave of mobilization recruits would be offered "a worthy pay and, desirably, a contract."
