Law enforcers prevent sabotage in Kyiv, two RPGs confiscated - PGO
The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Darnytsky garrison of Ukraine's central region and military counterintelligence service of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has prevented an act of sabotage due to take place before events to mark the Independence Day of Ukraine in Kyiv.
"Due to joint efforts and coordinated actions, law enforcement agencies found a storage with two service ammunition of RPG-22 and RPG-26, a map of the location with potential targets pointed out in a forest near military bases of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, near Kyiv," the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) said on Friday.
The PGO said that the RPGs were to be used to destroy armored targets and fortifications. The RPGs have a range of 250 meters.
A criminal proceeding has been opened under Article 112 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage).
