List of Ukrainian military personnel killed in Ilovaisk made public – PGO
Deputy prosecutor general and chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoliy Matios has made public the list of Ukrainian military personnel and policemen who were killed in fighting near Ilovaisk in August 2014.
The list (366 killed: 209 names and 157 as yet unidentified dead bodies) was posted on the website of Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine.
"These real heroes died near Ilovaisk for Ukraine. The elite and spirit of our nation, you rest in peace and we will never forget you. Another 156 of these heroes haven't been identified yet [doctors have stored DNA], 158 claimed missing [this list hasn't been made public as they might be kept as prisoners by militants]," Matios said.
Matios had previously said, citing the results of a comprehensive evaluation, that a total of 366 Ukrainian soldiers and law enforcement officers were killed and 429 were wounded in the events that occurred near Ilovaisk, Donetsk region, in August 2014. A total of 128 people were captured and 158 remain listed as missing.
